Nashville, TN - October 2002

Over Columbus Day weekend of 2002 I took a trip to Nashville, TN. I spent the weekend in Nashville, enjoy the friendly people, sight seeing, wonderful food and great music.

Special thanks to the folks at Boswell's Harley Davidson for the rental. Here's some pic's from a show they were having the weekend I was there.

I have a niece and nephew that live in Maryville, TN (about 30 minutes south of Knoxville) who have just started Skipping Rock Dairy this fall.

The Ultra Classic I rented from Boswell's Harley Davidson. Make sure to talk with Maggie about rentals from Boswell's.

Ask for Maggie in rentals.

Outside Boswell's front door, getting ready to leave.
The Rickyard - where they burn maple to make charcoal I took a trip to the Jack Daniels distillery, in Lynchburg, and went a tour. Our guide, Marlene, is on the right.

In front of the entrance to the Jack Daniels distillery. This building houses the museum and your tour starts here.

Barrels and barrels of aging whiskey.......... Barrels and barrels of whiskey aging in the warehouses. The distillery produced 6.3 million gallons in 2001.

And all this time I thought my purchases were subsidizing their existence.............guess they can get by without my help.

That building on the hill is one of 43 warehouses, open to the elements, where the whiskey is aged for four years in charred oak barrels.
Bottling Jack Daniels Single Barrel Jack Daniels Single Barrel is bottle on the premises. A large part of the process is still done by hand to ensure quality.
